The Self and Love was an exploratory self-portrait project of my relationship with love. This project was created during a time in my life filled with loss and heartache. From reading the likes of bel hooks, I began to understand love as something I needed to build a relationship with and was able to do so via this project. The people in the photos consist of self-portraits, friends and an ex-boyfriend. Love materialises itself through the relationships around me.
